Duck, NC
Located on the northern stretch of the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and nestled between Currituck Sound and the Atlantic Ocean, Duck is a quiet and picturesque residential seaside community with seven miles of beautiful beaches and plenty of top-notch amenities.
The meandering bike paths, sound-side boardwalk and expanding sidewalks are the perfect routes to explore the natural setting and all the town of Duck has to offer. A scenic walk or ride will lead you to watersports on Currituck Sound where outfitters will get you out on the water on standup paddleboards, kayaks and sailboats. Another stroll will lead to local and independent dining establishments – many of which offer outside bars and seating, views of Duck’s amazing sunsets and high culinary acclaim.
Visitors will find that losing the commercial strip malls and endless stoplights does not mean losing convenience and amenities. Duck has retained its identity as a small beach community while offering a high concentration of local clothing, home and gift stores, art galleries, jewelers, spas, bookstores, and surf shops to name a few. The well-stocked local grocery, farm stands, ABC store and pet store all mean vacationers can find exactly what they need at their fingertips.
Considering the area’s national popularity as one of America’s best beach towns, it’s hard to believe sixty years ago, Duck’s only visitors were fishermen looking for a great catch and hunters in search of well…ducks.
